postheadericon How to Manually Optimize Computer Speed For Windows 7

Have you ever wondered how to manually optimize computer speed for Windows 7 but had no idea what should do? Simply follow the steps below, then you will see an increase on your Windows 7 running speed.

1. Clean up the system. A bloated system will make the computer run desperately slowly. To optimize its computer speed, first do remember to get rid of some unused stuffs: 1) Uninstall useless programs from Add/Remove Programs. 2) Get rid of useless system junk files with Windows built-in Disk Cleanup utility..

2. Boost boot speed. 1) Optimize startup items. Programs which automatically run with system will make computer run slowly because of insufficient system resource. Just go to Start-> Run-> type “msconfig” and press “Enter”-> go to “Startup” tab and uncheck the unneeded startup items.

2) Defragmet your hard drive. A fragmented hard drive will make the computer run sluggishly by lengthening the file accessing time. So a disk defragmentation at lease once a week is needed.

2) Optimize Windows 7 boot speed. Go to “Start” -> type ‘msconfig’ in the search box and press “Enter” -> select “Boot” and then “Timeout” tab. Then click on “Advanced Options” to set the “Number of processors” according to your own computer configuration. After the reboot, you will see the computer perform faster at startup.

3. Optimize Windows 7 shutdown speed. Go to “Start “again and type “Regedit” and navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SYSTEM/CurrentControlSet/Control, double click on “waittokillservicetimeout” and change it from 12000 to 3000 or less. This reduces the shut down time.

4. Turn off some unnecessary visual effects. The visual effects within Windows 7 are indeed beautiful, but please note that this is always at the expense of slow computer speed. If you want to optimize Windows 7 running speed, it is a good idea to cancel some useless visual effects. This will faster windows conversion speed and then optimize computer speed.

Normally, with the above changes, you will see an optimization on your computer speed. But if that fails, it is recommended that you should run a powerful registry optimizer to free scan and then fix your Windows registry.
