Really fast. what could be affecting my internet speed?
I did not see Adware remover/blocker, spyware remover/blocker on your list.
Adware is a program that generates pop-up ads and directs you to search engines and pages you don’t want to go to. This can be considered a form of hijacking.
Spyware are programs that spy on your moves while on the computer to gather information about you sending it companies who use it mostly to tailor ads to your shopping habits. However there are other not so nice reasons for both Adware and spyware.
A tool you should first try:
http://www.lavasoftusa.com/ Lavasoft Ad-Aware Its a nifty program that you should use to scan your computer to find and remove Adware and most spyware.
It is relatively easy and it is FREE (Really not a hoax) It is a type of program that does need updates often.
If this doesn’t do the trick then there are other options to try:
I assume you are running Microsoft (Windows, 98, 200, Xp, blah). There are hidden files in the files, not just the so called “hidden files”
I’ll try posting this link: http://www.fuckmicrosoft.com/content/ms-hidden-files.shtml
I said try be cause after www. there is a four letter word for fornicate which has been known to turn into *** due to profanity filters on other sites. – If that is the case I think you know what to change the four letter words into.
Anyway that link not only tells you about hidden hidden files (Double word usage not a typo) and that page also directs you to http://www.bcwipe.com/ and a few other helpful tools to recover a lot of speed from your computer. However before you run to BCwipe please do read the first link to get a better understanding of the issue(s).
I would like to say with the old 98 system I had last century I used BC wipe and my computer ran as fast as new for about 6 months when the mother board fried and we put it to rest.

Also it could be a hardware issue. Simple things like cleaning out the dust and upgrading RAM are always good things to do. You can have a blazeing processor but if you only have 256kb of RAM that wont help much. Dust is bad because it makes your computer run hot. When the computer is hot the electrons dont move as smoothly so it created resistance and evenutaly the computer will over heat and shut off completely.
