Speed Up Your Laptop
Tips For Speeding Up a Laptop
Laptop computers are generally slower overall than desktops, unless you spend thousands of dollars on the highest-performance “desktop replacements.” Portability is lovely but speed definitely matters, too. Here are some ways to speed up your laptop.
Replacing a standard 5400 rpm hard drive with a 33 percent faster 7200 rpm drive is probably the best investment you can make in a laptop. Disk read/write operations are the biggest bottleneck in all but the cheapest, underpowered laptops. Replacing a laptop’s hard drive is much easier than the same upgrade on a desktop machine. There’s usually just one screw to remove. Then you pull of the drive bay cover; pull out the hard drive; slip in the new one; format the new drive and install all your software and data. The restoration of programs and data is easier if you made a disk image copy before removing the old drive.

Well, first thing’s first. While you may not be able to delete RSLogix and SQL Server, you can certainly halt their processes and governing services.
Ctrl+Alt+Delete, click Task Manager. You’ll see the processes. Find the ones governing the MSSQL Server and RSLogix (which should be obvious). Kill them.
Then, Start –> Control Panel –> Administrative Tools –> Services (or services.msc from Run) and scroll to anything MS SQL Server related and right click, choose properties, and set the startup option to Disabled. Click Stop to kill it outright. Disabled will keep it from launching as part of your user profile.
Make Laptop Faster
Have you been wondering – How do I make my laptop run faster? I know the feeling. A laptop can lack the overall processor power of regular desktop computer. This makes it more susceptible to slower computer speeds. Fortunately there are some easy ways to make your laptop faster.
1.   Run a disk defragmenter. What this does is compresses all of your files and streamlines them. This will speed up the amount of time it takes to access programs and process information. I recommend running a disk defrag once a month. You can do this manually or have a program schedule and run it automatically.
